It's rainin' bluebirds, it's rainin' bluebirds
and I wish I could explain
a crack of sunlight in a gray sky
a sunburn in the rain

And there's a rainbow, there's a rainbow
in the middle of the night
I never would have seen it
but for a full moon's light

When you open your eyes, it's like mornin' I suppose
ain't it just like the night, every time they close?

On the south side, on the south side
shadows on the wall.
grow a little longer
as we head into the fall

And the night hawks , oh the night hawks
they make a mystery sound
dive bombers makin' U-turns
before they hit the ground

When you open your eyes, it's like mornin' I suppose
ain't it just like the night, every time they close?

It's rainin' bluebirds, it's rainin' bluebirds
and I wish I could explain
a crack of sunlight in a gray sky
a sunburn in the rain

Close this window.
